Most breast lumps that can be felt are non-cancerous, although 10% of women who seek medical attention for this symptom end up being diagnosed with breast cancer.[1] Roughly 4% of breast cancer cases manifest as a tangible lump but show no signs of disease on mammogram or ultrasound. Breast pain and fibrocystic alterations are prevalent, affecting about half of all women above 30 years of age. Fibroadenomas, which are the most frequent benign breast tumors, affect one in four women and generally do not necessitate any treatment.
