Head lice ( Pediculosis ) : overview

Head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) are small parasitic insects that live on the human scalp and feed on blood. They are about 3mm long and can be seen with the naked eye. Head lice are not a sign of poor hygiene and can affect anyone, regardless of hair cleanliness.Head lice spread through direct head-to-head contact. They cannot jump or fly.
